Lauren Colby enters her 11th season as the diving coach this 2024-25 season. Colby helped the Huskies appear at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships in her first four seasons with the team for the first time in program history, and is the reigning two-time CAA Diving Coach of the Year.Â
Prior to joining the Huskies’ staff in July 2014 Colby coached at Marywood University and enjoyed a standout career with the Vermont Catamounts from 2008-2012.
As the diving coach at Marywood, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Colby coached the school’s first-ever all-conference diver in back-to-back seasons. Colby was named Landmark Conference Men’s Co-Coach of the Year in 2013-14 and helped mentor athletes who achieved pool and school records in both the one and three-meter events.
As a student-athlete at Vermont, she was a two-time team captain (2010-12) and earned the most improved diver award in 2012. Colby earned the Vermont Diver of the Year award in 2009 and was a four-time America East Conference Diver of the Week during her career. As a senior, she placed third at America East Championships in the three-meter event. She graduated with a degree in dietetics and nutrition science.
A native of Andover, Massachusetts, Colby helped lead Andover High School to the state title in each of her four years on the swimming and diving team. She was named team captain as a senior and earned all-state honors after finishing fifth in the state. She placed third in the state as a junior. Colby also was a four-year member of the gymnastics team in high school and finished fourth on the balance beam at the state meet.
