Northeastern women’s ice hockey head coach Dave Flint announced on August 1, 2013 the hiring of Julie Hershkowitz as the director of operations. Hershkowitz has been at NU as a student and employee since 2003.

"We're very excited to have Julie joining our staff," said Flint. "She has been a part of the Northeastern family for several years, and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in many different areas. We're thrilled to have her with us."

Hershkowitz will be responsible for the team's digital video analysis system, including all video breakdown and management of video databases for coach and player use as well as maintaining statistical databases. She will also coordinate the pre-scouting of opponents, scouting reports and video exchange with all opponents in addition to assisting with team travel coordination.

“After working with many different facets in the athletics department, I am excited to have the opportunity to contribute to the continued success of the women’s ice hockey program at Northeastern,” Hershkowitz said.

Hershkowitz joins the women’s hockey staff following a four-year stint as a residence director at NU where she managed the administrative operations for four residence hall communities of 678 students, as well as supervising a student staff of 11 resident assistants and one senior resident assistant. She also facilitated student learning through judicial hearings and conflict mediation.

Hershkowitz is no stranger to the athletic department, having served as an intern in the Northeastern compliance office last season. There, she assisted with the distribution of NCAA National Letter of Intent forms to incoming student-athletes and provided NCAA rules education materials for coaches, student-athletes and athletics staff members.

Hershkowitz received by Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy before earning a Master of Education in 2009 and a Master of Sport Leadership in 2013. Hershkowitz resides in Boston.
