Alumna and Northeastern Hall of Famer Kady Glessner returned home to Huntington Avenue in September 2013, joining Joe Wilhelm's staff as an assistant coach.
The 2014 season was one for the record books for the Huskies as Northeastern reached the finals of the Eastern Sprints for the third straight season, with all four NU crews medaling on the day in the program's best team performance in 34 appearances in the championship regatta. Northeastern’s varsity 8+ took the bronze while the Second Varsity 8+ (second), varsity 4+ (third) and third varsity 4+ (first), all had strong performances.

NU continued to build momentum two weeks later at the conference championships, storming to its fourth CAA title in impressive fashion. The Huskies swept all three races, led by dominating performances from the varsity and second varsity crews before the varsity four staged a come from behind victory to erase an open-water deficit to win by two seconds to propel the Huskies into the NCAA championships for the first time since 2000.Â
Glessner rowed for the Northeastern varsity from 2005 to 2007, earning All-American status in each of her final two seasons, as well as Second-Team All-New England in 2005.

A native of Seattle, Wash., Glessner led Northeastern to a pair of eighth-place finishes and a sixth-place finish at the Eastern Sprints during her time on Huntington Avenue. She earned the school's Outstanding Varsity Oarswoman award in both 2006 and 2007, and was inducted into the Northeastern Athletics Hall of Fame in 2013.

A two-time gold medal winner in the eight at the World Rowing Under-23 Championships, Glessner went on to a very successful national and international rowing career.

In 2009, she finished second in the Championship Eight at the Head of the Charles Regatta. That same year, she won gold in the eight at the USRowing National Championships and finished third in the pair at the National Selection Regatta No. 2. Internationally, she won gold in the eight at the World Rowing Championships and finished second in the eight at the Rowing World Cup stop in Lucerne.

A year later, in 2010, Glessner finished sixth in the pair at the National Selection Regatta No. 3 and claimed third in the pair at the National Selection Regatta No. 2. In international competition, she won gold in the eight at the World Rowing Championships and also captured gold in the eight at the Rowing World Cup stop in Lucerne.

In 2011, the former Husky won the pair at the Senior World Championship Trials and finished fifth in the pair at the National Selection Regatta No. 2. She enjoyed great international success that year, finishing eighth in the pair at the World Rowing Championships and first in the eight at the World Rowing Cup stop in Lucerne. She went on to win the coveted Remenham Challenge Cup at the Henley Royal Regatta setting a course record in the process.

In 2012, she finished eighth in the quadruple scull at the Samsung World Rowing Cup II and claimed fourth in the quadruple sculls at the Samsung World Rowing Cup I.Â
