Biography

2017: In the two seat, helped the varsity four to a fourth place finish (7:18.49) at the Murphy Cup (Mar. 25) … Sat in the two seat for the varsity four at the Doc Hosea Invitational (Apr. 1-2), finishing fourth in the Grand Final with a time of 7:42.84 … Was the two seat for the second varsity four against Columbia (Apr. 8), winning the race by two seconds at 8:19.5 … In the bow seat, helped the varsity four to a second place finish behind Michigan State (Apr. 22) with a time of 7:35.290 … Sat in the bow seat as the varsity four captured the bronze medal at the Eastern Sprints (Apr. 30) with a time of 7:47.41 in the Grand Final … Was the three seat for the varsity four at the CAA Championships (May 14), winning the race by 14 seconds with a time of 7:31.288 … In the bow seat, helped the V4 to a fifth place finish at the C Final at the NCAA Championships (May 26-28) at 7:40.798 to finish 17th in the nation … Competed in the Coxless Four at the Henley Women’s Regatta (Jun. 16-18).

Before NU: Rowed at at Duxbury Bay Maritime School for coaches Charles Hewitt and Michaela Streitfield. She was also been a varsity swimmer since 9th grade, qualifying for States all three years and was a Patriot League All Star in 2015. She served as captain of both teams in 2015-16. Katie attended the U.S. Rowing Development Camp in Saratoga, New York in the summer of 2014, and the Southeast Development camp in Chattanooga, Tenn. last summer. She is the Duxbury High School record holder on the erg, and won the State Rowing Championships the last two years.

Wilhelm says: "Katie is a very accomplished two sport athlete, and has great leadership qualities. She is strong, fit, tough, and loves to compete. Everything you could ask for in a collegiate athlete."
