OUTDOOR

Qualified for the New England and IC4A/ECAC Championships, finishing 25th in the 10000m (36:41.32, fifth on all-time NU outdoor performance list) at the Raleigh Relays (Mar. 29-30) … Placed third in the 5000m (17:36.71), qualifying for the New England Championships at the Ocean State Invitational (Apr. 12-13) … Finished sixth in the 10000m (38:39.98) at the CAA Championships (May 3-4) … Completed the 10000m with a time of 37:56.16, earning 11th at the IC4A/ECAC Championships (May 10).

INDOOR
Participated in the 5000m (17:57.13) at the BU Opener (Dec. 1) … Finished fourth in the 3000m (10:18.22) at the Howlin' Husky Invitational (Dec. 8) … Finished third in the 3000m (10:11.44) at the Joe Donahue games (Jan. 18) … Placed third in the 5000m (17:40.29) at the New England Championships (Feb. 1-2) … Set a new personal best in the 5,000m (17:33.23) at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational (Feb. 8-9) … Set a new personal best in the mile (5:15.08) at the BU Last Chance Qualifier (Feb. 24).

Before NU: Alavilli attended Carnegie Mellon for her undergraduate degree where she ran for the cross country and track teams all four years of eligibility with the exception of track her sophomore year... She served as the team captain her senior year at Carnegie Mellon... Before college, Alavilli ran four years of indoor and outdoor track and three years of cross country at Hanover High School where she also served as team captain her senior year... At Hanover, Alavilli received 2011 XC Rookie of the Year, 2012 Most Improved in winter track, 2012 Most Improved in cross country, the 2013 Jim Eakin Scholar Athlete Award, 2014 Coaches Award in Spring Track and the Scholar-Athlete Award all four years. 

Personal: Alavilli enjoys playing piano, reading crime fiction, biking, hiking and kayaking... While at Carnegie Mellon, she served as an event chair for the SWE Biomedical Engineering Event... Alavilli served in the Peer Health Advocacy Program... She taught private piano lessons for children and coached middle school distance track through the Hershey Program...
