Jesse Chapman is in his first season with the Northeastern Track & Field and Cross Country programs.
Chapman works closely with student-athletes specializing in the multi-events and vertical jumps. In his first indoor season with the Huskies, Chapman coached sophomore Kelsey Sullivan to a New England individual title in the high jump and to a record-setting performance in the pentathlon.
Chapman also saw student-athlete’s contribute at the ECAC Championships with All-East competitors in the pole vault and hurdles.Â
Chapman joined Northeastern in August 2015Â after spending last season as a volunteer assistant coach at Harvard University. He worked closely with student-athletes competing in sprints, jumps, hurdles and multi-events. He also designed strength and conditioning workout routines for women's distance runners competing at the national level.

Chapman spent the last two summers working at the Complete Track and Field Camp at Harvard, designing practice regiments and analyzing video for vertical jumpers.

He also served as a coach at the Loomis Chaffee Track Camp in 2010, 2012, and 2014 in Windsor, Conn. He coached the sprinters and jumpers at the camp and led workshops on proper exercise techniques and nutrition.

During his time at the Powerhouse Training Sports Center in East Longmeadow, Mass., Chapman organized new strength and conditioning programs to be used at prep schools across New England.

A graduate of the University of Connecticut, Chapman found great success as a competitor at the collegiate level. He helped the Connecticut Huskies to Big East indoor and outdoor track and field championships in 2011 and 2013 and served as a team captain in 2014. He was a Big East Decathlon champion and competed in an NCAA qualifier in 2013 and was an IC4A Decathlon champion in 2014.

Chapman graduated from Connecticut with a bachelor's degree in exercise science.  Â
