Dan Brem has spent over 30 years at Northeastern University as a student and professional, serving in roles in the university budget office, student-athlete support services, operations and was named Assistant Athletics Director for Business and Finance in 2017. Brem develops and manages the overall operating budget for the athletic department, including payroll, travel, accounts payable and budget management and control.
From 1998-2017, Brem filled different positions across campus as an Assistant Director of Administration, Budget and Data Analysis in the College of Computer and Information Science (2015-17), Senior Budget Analyst and Budget Analyst in the University Budget Office (1998-2015) and worked in the Student-Athlete Support Services (SASS) office (1996-98) observing academic data and developing community outreach programs for student-athletes. Brem began his professional career within the athletic department as an Operations Assistant (1993-96), overseeing department travel, contracts, and facility preparations for practices and games.
Brem received his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Northeastern in 1992. As an undergraduate student, Brem worked as a team manager for the men's basketball team and his love for basketball continued, serving as the official scorer for the Huskies for 28 years from 1992-2020. During his time as a team manager, Brem became the only non-player to win the Charles Diehl Contribution to Northeastern Basketball Award.Â
A native of Framingham, Mass., Brem earned his Master's degree in Public Administration from Northeastern in 1998. He and his wife Rachel reside in Newton, Mass.
