Sidney Binger was named Assistant Director of Athletic Communications on September 12, 2022 for Northeastern Athletics. She serves as the primary media contact for the Men's Ice Hockey and Women's Rowing programs.
She joins Northeastern after two years with USA Hockey as the 22nd Brian Fishman Fellow. With USA Hockey, she served as the primary contact for the U.S. National Under-17 Team of USA Hockey's National Team Development Program, as the digital content coordinator/media officer for the 2021 U.S. Under-18 Men's National Team at the IIHF U18 Men's World Championship and aided with external and internal communication's campaigns, facilitating media coverage and supporting all NGB initiatives within the USA Hockey organization.
Before USA Hockey, Binger worked as a Public Relations intern with the Detroit Red Wings during the 2019-20 season, assisting with all game night operations.
Prior to the Red Wings, Binger served as a Student Assistant for Athletic Communications at Michigan State University, assisting with all 23 varsity sports for the Spartans. She also served as the primary contact for the Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving programs from the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons.
Binger graduated from Michigan State University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management. She is originally from Mason, Michigan.
