Lauren DeTurk

Lauren DeTurk completed her first season as an assistant coach on Ken Nichols' staff after the 2011 season. The former Northeastern star was a middle hitter on Nichols’ squad from 2005 to 2008 and capped off her stellar career with CAA Player of the Year honors in 2008.

DeTurk ranks second on the Huskies’ all-time career leaders lists for kills with 1,330 and was just the sixth player in school history to surpass 1,000 kills and digs. She accumulated many honors during her playing career, including first-team All-CAA, CAA All-Tournament, and American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-East Region Honorable Mention.

DeTurk also competed on the Huskies track and field team as a javelin thrower.

Following her career with the Huskies, DeTurk spent a year playing professional volleyball in Switzerland for the Saignelegier club team. DeTurk is also an avid beach volleyball player, competing on the AVP Pro Beach Tour.
