Shelly Morris enters her fifth season as head coach for the Huskies. After three seasons as an associate head coach at Northeastern, she was officially named head coach of the Huskies on February 1, 2018. Morris, a Northeastern alumna, is the fourth head coach in team history.

Morris succeeds Northeastern Hall of Fame coach Cheryl Murtagh, who retired after 30 seasons at the helm of the field hockey program.

Coaching Career:
  • Head coach for four seasons, associate head coach for three seasons
  • Three CAA Tournament appearances (2017, 2018, 2019) and one CAA Championship game appearance (2019)
  • No. 25 national ranking during the 2019 seasons, the program's first national ranking since 2014
  • Head coach at Stonehill College (2008-2014)
  • Head coach at Ohio University (1999-2004)
Playing Career:
  • Four time letterwinner at Northeastern University (1991-1994)
  • Ranks fifth all-time in career assists with 37
  • Three NCAA Tournament appearances
  • Two America East Championships (1992, 1994), four America East Tournament appearances (1991-1994)
