While completing his master’s degree at Northeastern, Soderstrom spent two years as the Huskies’ volunteer assistant coach, where he helped NU make a postseason run to the CAA championship match in 2010. That season, he played an instrumental role in helping Britney Brown win CAA Player of the Year and Janelle Tucker achieve CAA Rookie of the Year honors.

Prior to coaching at Northeastern, Soderstrom was an assistant coach at St. John’s, where he helped the Red Storm win the 2008 BIG EAST regular-season championship. He mentored conference Player of the Year Wioleta Leszczynska and Libero of the Year Lena Yee.
