Dyjak's second assist of the game was her seventh of the season, surpassing the all-time season record of six, which she set in 2001 and 2002. Amy Devendorf also had six assists in 2000.

NU improved to 10-5 overall and 4-2 in conference play, while Hartford falls to 4-9-2 overall and 3-2-1 in the league. The Huskies continue to cruise at home this season, posting an 8-1 mark at Parsons.

Both teams generated very little offense early on, as the Huskies and the Hawks couldn't get a shot on net in the first 15 minutes of play. Northeastern was able to make a couple of runs, but a pressured defense from Hartford forced NU into a couple of early offside calls. NU ended the game with 12 offside calls total.

The Huskies finally got their shot on net in the 16th minute and capitalized on it, as redshirt freshman Kristin Kowalik picked up her team-leading 11th goal of the season, giving them a 1-0 lead. Sophomore Jess Pfeifer set up the goal when she sprinted down the right side of the field, made two nice moves down low to beat a Hartford defender and put a sharp pass to the foot of Kowalik, who finished with a one-timer to the upper-left corner of the net.

Northeastern kept the pressure on, and got its second goal of the game from Dyjak at 28:52. A Hartford foul put the Huskies in good position with a direct kick just outside the top of the box. Dyjak put a hard shot to the upper-left corner past the diving Hawk goalkeeper Heather Hinton to give NU a two-goal advantage.

Hartford came out with intensity in the second half, forcing the Husky defense to step up and protect the lead. The Hawks finally got their first good scoring opportunity of the game early in the period, but junior goalkeeper Cynthia Slowik cut off the shot and made a great save to keep Hartford scoreless.

Junior co-captain Jen North would put the game out of reach, giving the Huskies an insurance goal and a 3-0 lead on a pass from Dyjak with 20:26 remaining in the match. Northeastern would add a final goal with just two seconds left on the clock when freshman Kristen Blake scored off a cross from Dyjak.

Northeastern outshot Hartford, 14-6, in the game. Slowik posted four saves on the way to her sixth shutout of the season. Hinton recorded four saves in the loss for the Hawks.

The Huskies return to the field on Thursday, when they travel to Albany for an America East matchup at 3 p.m.
