The Huskies (7-3-0, 2-0-0) scored three times in the first half and twice in the second to open up a 5-0 lead. The Seawolves (5-5-1, 1-1-0) got on the board with just over a minute remaining.

Filippa Petruccelli started the scoring at 20:28 of the first half when she redirected a corner kick from Dyjak into the net.

The Huskies widened the margin to 2-0 with 10 minutes to go in the first half. Redshirt freshman Kristen Kowalik took a shot from the left side that Stony Brook keeper Cindy Bennett got a hand on. The ball kept rolling toward the net, but a Seawolves defender cleared it. Freshman Siobhan Howard ran on to the ball and pounded it into the net for her second goal of the season.

Four minutes later, Dyjak scored for the second time in the game and sixth time this season. Kowalik hit her with a pass as she snuck behind the defense, and she beat Bennett one-on-one.

Kowalik added her team-leading eighth goal of the season five minutes into the second half, and midfielder Jennifer North rounded out the Husky scoring when she found the back of the net on a breakaway less than two minutes later.

Suzy Larson scored Stony Brook's only goal at the 88:49 mark.

The Huskies were on the attack the entire game. They out-shot the Seawolves, 17-5, and took six corner kicks to Stony Brook's one.

Junior goalkeeper Cynthia Slowik made two saves before giving way to freshman Annie Petrofsky for the last 18 minutes of the game. Petrofksy saved one shot. Seawolves keeper Cindy Bennett recorded six saves.

Northeastern takes a break from conference action when it hosts Sacred Heart on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 3 p.m.
