The Northeastern men's cross country team unleashed four harriers at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday morning as a a chance to get other members of the Huskies' distance squad some mileage.

The common trend of rookies leading the way for Northeastern remained constant on Saturday as newcomer Michael MacKenzie directed NU's efforts with a 46th-place mark of 25:56 in the 8K event.

Sophomore Chris Mentas stay close to his teammate as the second-year distance runner offered up the exact same time for 47th.

Sophomores Steve Francis and Jonathon Lampron registered times of 26:26 and 27:34, respectively, to close out the Huskies third event of the season.

Because Northeastern only had four student-athletes compete in Saturday's race, the Huskies were ineligible for scoring. Keene State won the team-scoring portion with a collective time of 2:05.42 with a first and second-place finish.

Northeastern returns to the trails next weekend in New Britain, Conn. for action at the CCSU Ted Owens invitational on Saturday, Sept. 25.
