Graduate student
Dani Rylan (Tampa, Fla.) was named the Northeastern University Student Athlete of the Week on Monday, Jan. 3 for her game-winning goal against St. Cloud State on Jan. 2.
Rylan's goal, her first as a Husky, came with 3:36 remaining in the third period and broke a 1-1 tie. Her strike was the difference as Northeastern won the game, 2-1. The win snapped a two-game losing streak.
Despite not scoring a goal in the 2010 portion of the schedule, Rylan has been productive all season long. She has seven points (1-6-7) and has been a consistent presence on the ice in crucial situations for head coach
Dave Flint. She already has two multi-point games this season.
The Huskies will look to win their second-straight game when they travel to New Hampshire to take on the Wildcats on Jan. 9. The puck is scheduled to drop at 2 p.m.
