AMESBURY, Mass.— For the first time in her career, freshman Ivana Wey of the No. 4 Northeastern women's hockey team was named Hockey East Rookie of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Wey scored her first two career goals in back-to-back games as the Huskies tied and then defeated then-No. 4 Quinnipiac on the road.
The Davos, Switzerland, native tallied the game-tying goal on Friday, then added another in Northeastern's 5-1 win. She now has a three-game point streak, with four points over that stretch.
Wey and the Huskies return to action at RIT on Friday, Oct. 23, at 3 p.m.
