Women's soccer fell to the Hofstra Pride in their regular season finale, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon at Parsons Field.

The Huskies fell into an early hole in the game's opening minutes and were unable to come back from the deficit.

Hofstra's Courtney Breen scored on a battle in front of the net that ensued after a corner kick. Her sixth goal of the season came unassisted in the second minute of regulation, giving Hofstra an early 1-0 lead.

Northeastern had a good scoring chance when forward Veronica Napoli took a feed from Greta Samuelsdottir but was unable to get a shot off in the box. Lahaina Zoller had an opportunity from inside the box but missed her shot was saved.

The Pride added to their lead in the 14th minute when midfielder Sam Scolarici scored off a corner kick by Ruby Staplehurst, her fourth tally on the season.

Scolarici put home her second goal of the night in the 15th minute on a turnover caused by a miscommunication on the Husky backline.

Northeastern's best chance to get back into the match came when Samuelsdottir was taken down in the box in the 29th minute. Defender Kelly Matthews missed the penalty kick high over the crossbar, leaving the deficit at three.

Early in the second half, forward Hanna Terry sustained an injury after colliding with a Hofstra player and did not return to the game.

Despite hard work to create scoring chances, Hofstra was able to protect its lead for a 3-0 victory.

Hofstra outshot Northeastern by a small margin, 10-9, and held a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks. Paige Burnett made four stops on the day.
