Jewel Tunstull as the Northeastern women's basketball (5-3, 0-0 CAA) team defeated Maine (5-5, 0-1 AE), 81-55, on Sunday afternoon at Cabot Center.
Tunstull, who leads the Colonial Athletic Association in double-doubles, led all scorers and matched a season-best 15 rebounds, good for her fifth double-double of the season.
Kazzidy Stewart joined the lone-senior in double-figures with 14 points and seven rebounds.
Samantha DeFreese knocked a season-best 12 alongside a block and a steal,
Tiffany Montagne chipped in 11 points, while
Amencie Mercier logged 10 and tied a season-high six assists and four steals.

Liz Wood paced Maine with 13 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two steals. Sophie Weckstrom also logged a double-digit scoring game with 12.
The Huskies were strong right out of the chute, knocking down five of their first seven shots before Stewart drained a pair of free throws to enter the first media time out, 12-0. Maine landed a trio of shots from beyond the arc to come within seven, but the Huskies did not lose momentum as a Tunstull posted back-to-back layups to maintain a double-digit lead.
Stewart notched her first 3-pointer of the game to extend the Huskies' lead to 11 points, but Maine responded with a trey of its own and a free throw to cut NU's advantage to just seven.
With 3:55 left in the first half, Northeastern used a 10-3 run, highlighted by two jumpers from Iriah, to close out the first half, 44-28. The Huskies dominated the first half, shooting 59.4 percent (19-32) from the floor, 50 percent (4-8) from beyond the arc, and 100 percent (2-2) from the charity stripe.
The Black Bears opened the second frame with a 5-0 spurt to come within 12 points, but that was the closest Maine would get for the remainder of the game. An 11-2 run, including seven points from Stewart, extended the gap, 57-34. The teams exchanged baskets through the next three minutes, but Maine could not break a 16-point deficit.
With 11:39 left to play, Northeastern recorded a 16-2 run, capped with a DeFreese trey, that spanned over seven minutes to give the Huskies a 30-point advantage for the largest lead of the game. Maine took the next six points, but a layup from Williams sealed the deal for the Huskies, 81-55.
For the game, Northeastern shot 47 percent (33-70) from the floor, 38 percent (6-16) from long range and 90 percent (9-10) from the free-throw line. Maine connected on 32 percent (19-60) of its attempts from the floor, including 28 percent (9-32) from 3-point range. NU won the rebounding battle, 46-35, for a new team season-best.
Northeastern will travel to Poughkeepsie, N.Y., on Wednesday, Dec. 18, when it continues its non-conference slate against regional-rival Marist.
