Women's resultsMT. PLEASANT, S.C. – The Northeastern men's and women's cross country teams pulled out a second and seventh place finish at the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championships Saturday morning at Laurel Hill Plantation in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.
The men's team took home second place in the 8k for the third straight season with a score of 67. Senior
Nephat Maritim stayed among the top-10 runners the entire race and crossed the finish line in sixth place out of 47 runners with a time of 24:48.0. The Huskies' top-15 finishes included
Christian Stafford in eighth with a time of 25:02.7 and
Paul Duffey in 14th at 25:29.4.
On the women's side, the Huskies earned seventh place in the 6k with 173 points backed by
Brooke Wojeski, who finished first for the Red and Black with a time of 22:07.5 (26th place), and
Jordan O'Dea right behind at 22:09.1 (27th place).
"It was great to see the race come together for the men," said head coach
Cathrine Erickson. "We believe we will some more good races come together at NCAA regionals and IC4A's and ECAC's."
