NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The No. 7/7 Northeastern women's hockey team (9-1-1, 5-0-0 WHEA) scored four goals in the second period, and tacked on three more in a two-minute span in the third, to earn its seventh straight victory with an 8-3 win at Merrimack (2-9-0, 1-4-0 WHEA) on Friday at Lawler Rink.

Senior Kendall Coyne scored her 10th career hat trick as part of a four-point night, while sophomore Heather Mottau and redshirt junior Paige Savage each notched a goal and an assist. Junior Hayley Masters, sophomore McKenna Brand, and freshman Kasidy Anderson also scored for Northeastern, while junior Hayley Scamurra and sophomore Lauren Kelly each dished out two assists.

Goal Recaps
• Coyne put the Huskies on top 1-0 with 1:12 remaining in the first period. After taking a feed from sophomore Denisa Krizova in the neutral zone, Coyne skated in with speed before tucking a shot through the legs of Merrimack netminder Chaislyn Burgio from the left slot.
• Coyne doubled the lead just seven seconds into the middle frame after stealing the disc from a Merrimack defenseman off the opening faceoff, and sliding a shot inside the left post.
• The Warriors pulled a goal back at 1:40 of the period when Baye Flanagan ripped a shot over the glove of Brittany Bugalski (15 saves) from the top of the right circle.
• Northeastern regained its two-goal cushion 37 seconds later when sophomore Taytum Clairmont played a perfect cross-crease pass to Masters for a one-timer at the right post.
• Just over a minute later, the puck was in the Merrimack net yet again as Coyne skated behind the Warriors net and slipped a feed into the slot for Mottau to fire home at the 3:36 mark.
• Northeastern tacked on a fourth second-period goal at 13:49 when Savage banged home a rebound at the left of the cage following a wrister by Mottau.
• After Merrimack pulled within 5-2 with 4:18 remaining, NU scored three times in a span of two minutes to establish an 8-2 lead. Coyne completed the hat trick at 16:22 with a rebound at the right of the net to make it 6-2.
• Brand then pushed the lead to 7-2 with another goal off a rebound, this time following a Savage shot at 17:16.
• Anderson made it 8-2 when she crashed the net following a dump-in by sophomore Shelby Herrington, and stashed home the loose puck at the left of the cage.
