BOSTON – Sophomore Maddie Hartman and senior Hayley Scamurra each scored shorthanded goals, and junior McKenna Brand added a power-play goal and an even-strength goal to propel the Northeastern women's hockey team (6-2-1, 2-0-0 WHEA) to a 4-3 win over Boston University (3-3-1, 2-3-0 WHEA) on Tuesday evening at Walter Brown Arena.

With the win, the Huskies extended their unbeaten streak to seven games (6-0-1) and knocked off the Terriers for the second time this season.

Goal Recaps
• Northeastern scored on its first shot just 1:07 into the game when Scamurra wrapped the puck around the BU net and found Brand open in the low slot for a one-timer that found the back of the cage.
• The Huskies doubled the advantage on a shorthanded goal at 5:52. Senior Paige Savage initiated the goal with a blocked shot at the NU blueline, allowing Hartman to collect the disc and skate the other way on a partial breakaway. Hartman gained the Terriers' zone and wristed a shot over the glove of BU netminder Victoria Hanson (36 saves) to make it 2-0.
• BU answered with a power-play goal at 11:48 of the first period when Samantha Sutherland fed Maddie Elia for a one-timer at the right of the NU cage.
• Northeastern extended the lead back to two goals with a power-play goal of its own at 5:16 of the second period. On a rush up the ice, junior Denisa Krizova found Brand streaking into the BU zone on the left wing. Brand then exchanged passes with Scamurra, before receiving the puck back on the doorstep and tucking a shot through the pads of Hanson to make it 3-1.
• Scamurra tacked on a second shorthanded goal at 14:55 of the second stanza, collecting the puck along the right-wing boards, before sniping a wrister over the shoulder of Hanson to push the score to 4-1.
• BU trimmed the score to 4-2 when Victoria Bach slammed home a rebound on the power play at 16:20 of the second period.
• Bach netted her second of the night at 7:34 of the third period when she skated around an NU defenseman and roofed a backhand at the right of the net to make it 4-3.
