NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Trailing 2-1 early in the third period, the Northeastern women's ice hockey team (9-3-1, 5-1-0) scored three times in less than 10 minutes to pick up a 4-2 victory at Merrimack (4-7-1, 2-4-0) on Friday afternoon at Lawler Arena.

Denisa Krizova (one goal, one assist), Codie Cross and McKenna Brand all scored in the final frame before the Huskies staved off a six-on-four Merrimack advantage in the final moments of regulation. Andrea Renner also scored for Northeastern, her first collegiate tally, while Brittany Bugalski made 30 stops in goal.

Paige Voight scored both goals for the Warriors, while Samantha Ridgewell turned aside 37 shots throughout the contest. Northeastern outshot MC 41-32 in the game and was 0-of-4 on the power play.

Goal descriptions:
• After a back and forth opening 10 minutes of the game, Merrimack struck first on Voight's fifth of the season. With the Warriors pressuring, Bugalski steered aside shots from Allison Sexton and Jessica Bonfe from point blank range before Voight knocked home the third opportunity before the Huskies could clear.

• The Huskies tied the game at one less than four minutes into the second period on Renner's first collegiate tally. The play began with Halle Silva winning a puck battle along the halfwall and chipping it up to Maddie Hartman at the point. Hartman then took a quick stride towards goal and sent a low shot in on Ridgewell that Renner was able to redirect past the MC netminder for the score.

• Voight found the back of the net for the second time early in the third period off a face-off play to regain Merrimack's lead. After Sexton found the draw across to Bonfe at the left side, she slid it back to Voight atop the face-off circle. Voight then fired the puck through traffic, beating Bugalski under the glove 3:43 into the period.

• Northeastern leveled the score just 16 seconds after the Warrior tally on Krizova's ninth of the season. With the Huskies moving the puck in the attacking end, Maddie Hartman stole the puck along the halfwall before firing it in on goal, where Krizova was stationed to knock it home to tie the game at two.

• The Huskies took their first lead of the game with 11:33 to play in regulation on Cross' second of the year. After Paige Capistran slid a pass across the blueline to Cross, Cross fired a shot from the left side towards the cage and through a Halle Silva screen to beat Ridgewell.

• NU extended the lead to 4-2 with 8:05 to play in regulation on Brand's ninth of the season. Krizova set up the play by forcing a turnover in the neutral zone and tossing the puck up to Brand. Brand then sped into the attacking zone before wristing a shot from atop the left face-off dot past Ridgewell.

Stats of the game:
• Northeastern is now 4-1-0 all-time against Merrimack

• Krizova extended her scoring streak to 12-games (nine goals, 10 assists). She is now fourth in the nation in career scoring among active skaters (113 points on 42 goals and 71 assists).

• Silva recorded her first multi-point game of the season on Friday, while Krizova logged her sixth multi-point effort of the year.

• Northeastern's 21 first period shots were the most for the Huskies in any period of any game this season. The previous high was 18 in the third period against Merrimack on Oct. 28.

• Renner is the fourth NU rookie to find the back of the net this season (Cross, Matti Hartman, Capistran).

The road ahead:
• The teams will meet again tomorrow in the regular season finale at Matthews Arena. Puck drop is slated for 2 p.m.
