BURLINGTON, Vt. – The Northeastern women's hockey team (10-3-2, 6-1-1 WHEA) erased a two-goal, third-period deficit to earn a hard-fought 3-3 tie at Vermont (3-5-3, 2-2-2 WHEA) on Friday afternoon at Gutterson Fieldhouse.

Trailing 3-1 into the final frame, Northeastern was able to force overtime when senior Hayley Scamurra and sophomore Kasidy Anderson scored two goals in a two-minute span midway through the period.

The Huskies nearly won the contest in the final seconds of the extra session, but UVM netminder Madison Litchfield (24 saves) made a big save on senior Hayley Masters' wrister as time expired.

Senior Heather Mottau led NU with a goal and an assist on the day, while junior Denisa Krizova earned an assist to extend her point streak to 14 straight games.

Goal Recaps
• Vermont struck first at the 11:47 mark of the first period when Alyssa Gorecki deflected a Sammy Kolowrat point-shot into the back of the net on the power play.
• Northeastern tied the score midway through the second stanza on a beautiful individual play by Mottau. The senior defenseman forced a turnover at the Vermont blue line, before skating into the zone and ripping a shot through the five-hole of Litchfield from the right circle at the 8:33 mark.
• Gorecki potted her second goal of the game with 3:24 left in the second period to give the Catamounts a 2-1 advantage. Daria O'Neill earned the primary assist with a cross-ice feed from the left point that deflected off a skate and found Gorecki open at the back post.
• The Catamounts added another goal just 1:16 later when Cassidy Campeau wristed a shot off the stick of a Northeastern defender and into the net from the right circle to make it 3-1.
• Seconds after the Huskies had an apparent goal disallowed, Scamurra made it 3-2 at the 8:53 mark of the third with a shot that squeezed through the legs of Litchfield from the left circle.
• Northeastern then tied the game 2:10 later when Anderson redirected an Ainsley MacMillan point-shot inside the left post with 8:57 to play in the final frame.

Noteworthy
• Northeastern extended its unbeaten streak against Vermont to eight straight games (7-0-1).
• The Huskies outshot the Catamounts by a 27-23 margin.
• Junior Denisa Krizova extended her point streak to 14 games with an assist on Scamurra's goal.
