The recent Northeastern graduate has signed with BC Andorra of the Liga ACB

Official Release

BOSTON
– After spending time with the Miami Heat in the 2016 NBA Summer League, recent Northeastern basketball graduate David Walker has signed on to play with BC Andorra of the Spanish Liga ACB.

The Liga ACB is regarded as the second best league in the world by many, behind the National Basketball Association.

"I'm excited to start my career in such a competitive league with BC Andorra," said Walker. "I really look forward to what the future holds."

This summer, Walker played in 11 games for the Miami Heat in the Orlando and Las Vegas Summer Leagues, starting in six of them. The Stow, Ohio native averaged 6.0 points, 1.5 rebounds and an assist in 21.1 minutes of play per game.

The school record holder kept his sharp shooting ways going, connecting on 35.0 percent from the field, including 44.6 percent from behind the arc. He tallied a personal summer league best 14 points to go along with three assists, two rebounds and two steals against Oklahoma City, knocking down 4-of-7 from deep.

"We are so excited for Davey, and the great opportunity in front of him," said Northeastern head coach Bill Coen. "BC Andorra is getting a driven, talented, and outstanding individual in David Walker. The progress he made from his freshman season to his senior season was remarkable, and I'm certain his professional career will continue on the same trajectory.

"He came to Northeastern a skinny kid from Ohio, and he is leaving as a school record holder, a first team All-Conference member, the 2015-16 CAA scoring champion, a Northeastern University graduate with a degree in Biology, and now a professional athlete. We couldn't be more proud of Davey, and are so happy for him and his family."

In his final season as a Husky, Walker became the 11th ever Northeastern player to earn NABC first team honors, while he and Quincy Ford were the 28th and 29th Huskies to earn All-District Honors and the 10th and 11th under Coen.

Walker was also named First Team All-CAA and finished his senior season as the CAA Scoring Champion. He finished the year averaging 17.9 points per game and was the first Northeastern player to lead the league in scoring since J.J. Barea did so during his senior season in 2005-06 (21.0 ppg).

Along with his league-leading 17.9 points per game, Walker averaged 3.8 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 2015-16. He also finished the CAA season averaging 16.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. Walker's points per game were fifth most in CAA action while 22.2 percent of his points came from the charity stripe where he shot 88.3 percent on the season to lead the conference.

Nearly half of all of his points came from behind the arc as he connected on a school record setting 97 treys on the season, shooting a .413 clip from deep. Walker also added 47 steals and 12 blocks on the season.

Walker averaged 38.3 minutes per game, playing in a school record 1,263 minutes on the year. He finished the regular season leading the country in minutes played.

After four successful seasons on Huntington Ave., Walker finished his career in eighth place all-time with 1,631 career points and sits in second place on the career 3-pointers made chart with 250.
