BOSTON -- The Northeastern women's hockey team (1-1-1, 1-0-0) opened the 2017-18 Hockey East season with a 3-2 victory against the Boston University Terriers (0-2-0, 0-2-0) in an overtime thriller at Walter Brown Arena.
After a third period that saw no winner emerge, the Hockey East foes headed to overtime to settle the score. Sophomore
Matti Hartman collected her first goal of the season in the extra session to lift the Huskies to the 3-2 win. Freshman

Northeastern found its offensive stride in the second period shortly after BU made it 2-0.
Kasidy Anderson notched her first goal of the season to make it 2-1 before
Taytum Clairmont found room under the crossbar to level the score.
The Huskies came out hard in the first period, claiming a 12-9 advantage in shots on net in the first 20 minutes. The Terriers struck first with under two minutes to play in the first period to open up a 1-0 lead.

Brittany Bugalski made 22 saves on 24 shots for Northeastern as she notched her first win of the season.
Hartman's heroic goal marked Northeastern's first regular season overtime win since Feb. 3 of last season when the Huskies topped Providence 4-3 in the extra session.
The Huskies and Terriers will square off again tomorrow at Matthews Arena at 2 p.m.
