CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Caitrin Lonergan notched a hat trick and two assists to lift No. 2 Boston College (12-1-2, 6-0-2 WHEA) to a 7-3 victory over the Northeastern women's hockey team (9-8-2, 5-5-1 WHEA) on Tuesday evening at Conte Forum.

• Boston College struck first 3:10 into the first period when Kenzie Kent found Caitrin Lonergan open between the circles for a hard wrister that beat goaltender
Aerin Frankel (16 saves) glove-side.
• The Huskies tied the score just 1:05 later when
McKenna Brand backhanded a rebound past the outstretched arms of BC netminder Katie Burt (33 saves) following a point-shot by
Ainsley MacMillan.
• The Eagles regained the lead at 11:53 of the opening period. After Willow Corson forced a turnover at the NU line, the puck trickled to Daryl Watts, who played catch with Lonergan before firing the puck inside the left post to make it 2-1.
• BC tacked on a third goal just over two minutes into the second stanza when Kent threw a puck into the crease from behind the net for Delaney Belinskas to poke home.
• The Eagles made it 4-1 at 14:30 of the middle frame when Lonergan scored her second of the night, firing a low shot through the pads of Frankel from the right circle.

Lauren Kelly brought the Huskies back within two with her 50th career point at 17:38 of the second period.
McKenna Brand caused a turnover in the BC zone and fired a shot from the right point that Kelly was able to tip home from between the circles.
• BC went back ahead by three goals early in the third period when Kent roofed a rebound following a Lonergan shot at the right of the cage.
• The Eagles struck again just 44 seconds later when Watts snuck a shot through the five-hole of
Brittany Bugalski (10 saves) from the low slot to make it 6-2.
• Lonergan completed her hat trick at 16:32 of the third period with a shorthanded tally, shifting forehand to backhand on a breakaway to bump the advantage to 7-2.

Skylar Fontaine added a late consolation goal, taking a feed from Krizova and wristing a shot through the pads of Burt from the right dot to round out the scoring at 18:32.
