BURLINGTON, Vt. – Eve-Audrey Picard scored twice and added an assist to propel the Vermont Catamounts (7-17-4, 4-11-3 WHEA) to a 5-2 victory over the Northeastern women's hockey team (13-11-3, 9-8-2 WHEA) on Friday evening at Gutterson Fieldhouse.

Lauren Kelly notched her 20th collegiate goal to cancel out Picard's opener at the 9:09 mark of the first period, but the Catamounts surged ahead with three goals in the second stanza to put the game out of reach.

Taytum Clairmont reduced the deficit to 4-2 with a power-play tally at 5:26 of the final frame, but Northeastern would get no closer as the hosts later iced the game on a Mackenzie MacNeil empty-netter in the waning seconds.
Northeastern will look to earn the series split on Saturday when the teams square off again at 4 p.m.
