BROOKLINE, Mass. – Despite pairing a near 2:1 advantage in total attempts with a healthy, 8-2 edge in attempts on target during Sunday's CAA semifinal match at Parsons Field, the second-seeded Northeastern women's soccer team was unable to counter Lucy Porter's ninth-minute goal as the Huskies exited the conference tournament courtesy of their 1-0 defeat to third-seeded Hofstra.

Chelsea Domond and Hannah Rosenblatt did the majority of the legwork for Northeastern (10-9-1, 7-2-0 CAA) on the stat sheets, sharing the team lead in attempts with five apiece. Rosenblatt steered two of her five attempts on target – almost leveling the match during the 55th minute, when she struck the Huskies' 20-yard set piece over the crossbar.

Hofstra (14-5-1, 6-2-1 CAA) dictated the tempo during the first half, amassing a 9-7 advantage in total attempts while scoring during the opening 10 minutes of play. Jenn Buoncore and Miri Taylor exchanged give-and-go passes along the left flank before Buoncore crossed into the box, where Porter headed in the eventual match-winner.

Northeastern outshot Hofstra, 13-2, during the second half and fired six attempts during the final 15 minutes of regulation. Olivia Ware was unable to further Julianne Ross' through ball during the 78th minute, while Mikenna McManus was denied during back-to-back attempts during the 87th minute.

Both sides made goalkeeping changes at halftime; Megan Adams replaced Nathalie Nidetch for Northeastern and Hofstra's Ashley Wilson subbed on for Jenna Borresen, who made five saves during the first half.

With the victory, the Pride advanced to Saturday's CAA championship match against top-seeded James Madison, which defeated fourth-seeded College of Charleston, 2-1, during the league's second semifinal match.
