PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Despite outshooting Providence by a 35-20 margin, the Northeastern women's hockey team (15-16-3, 11-11-2 WHEA) was unable to find a way through Friars' netmider Madison Myers in a 1-0 setback on Sunday in the regular season finale at Schneider Arena.
Cassidy MacPherson scored the only goal of the game midway though the second period and Myers made the tally stand up with 13 saves in the first period, nine in the second, and 13 more in the final frame.
Freshman
Aerin Frankel was the tough-luck loser, despite making several big stops of her own to finish with 19 saves on 20 shots.
The Huskies will face New Hampshire at home next weekend in the WHEA quarterfinals. All games will begin at 2 p.m.
