Harvard uses early burst to hold off Huskies

Box Score  |  Season Statistics

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Two goals in a span of 63 seconds early in the first half were enough to propel the Harvard Crimson (3-4-0) to a 2-0 victory over the Northeastern women's soccer team (3-6-1) on Sunday at Ohiri Field.

Leah Mohammadi opened the scoring with a free kick that deflected off the NU wall and inside the left post at the 12:06 mark. Then, just 1:03 later, Sophie Hirst took a feed from Murphy Agnew and slotted a shot past Nathalie Nidetch (3 saves) to double the advantage at 13:09.

The Huskies were unable to find a way through at the offensive end, despite three shot attempts each from Kerri Zerfoss and Chelsea Domond.

Northeastern will open CAA play on Thursday evening at Delaware. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
