HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Competing during its lone CAA game of the weekend on Sunday, the Northeastern women's basketball team was unable to start its three-game conference road stand on a winning note as the Huskies played to the 78-61 defeat against Hofstra at the David S. Mack Sports & Exhibition Center.
 
Stella Clark led Northeastern's comeback charge during the fourth quarter, where she scored nine of her team high, 14 points. Clark added four rebounds and two assists to the Huskies' cause as NU trimmed the Pride's three-quarter, 62-41 lead down to 10 points (70-60) with 1:37 remaining in regulation.
 
Jess Genco dished out three assists to become the Huskies' all-time record holder in the category, departing Sunday's game with 466 assists to her name. Genco also compiled 12 points, four rebounds and six steals for NU while her senior teammate, Gabby Giacone, notched 10 points, three rebounds and a block.
 
Northeastern (13-5, 3-4 CAA) matched Hofstra (7-12, 1-6 CAA) in rebounding, 35-35, surrendering only a two-point margin to the Pride in points in the paint (26-24). Hofstra relied on hot shooting to distance itself from the Huskies, burying 54 percent of its attempts while gaining a 17-3 advantage in free throw conversions.
 
Boogie Brozoski scored 34 points to lead the Pride.
