Northeastern remained neck-and-neck with College of Charleston (4-14, 1-5 CAA) during the opening set, surrendering the lead to the Cougars at 12-11 before knotting the set for the eighth time at 17-17. Shupe passed two kills to Shollin and Gonzalez to put the Huskies in front for the final time – part of Northeastern's seven-point scoring run that left NU in control at 22-17.

Northeastern staged a four-point run to slide within a point at 20-19, despite the Cougars holding on late to even the match.

Â
Northeastern rushed out to the 6-1 lead during the fourth set, receiving two kills from Staunton and an ace by Shupe. Despite allowing the Cougars to draw even at 12-12, three straight Charleston errors allowed the Huskies to vault in front for the final time at 16-13.
