Flint captures program record in No. 4 Huskies win over UNH

BOSTON— Head coach Dave Flint became the winningest coach in program history as the No. 4 Northeastern women's hockey team skated past New Hampshire, 5-1, in the opening game of the home-and-home series. Flint captured his 211th win at Northeastern and 299th career win on Friday night, passing Don MacLeod (210) as winningest coach.

After falling behind 1-0 just 32 seconds into the game to New Hampshire (6-6-2, 5-5-1 HEAW), freshman Peyton Anderson responded for the Huskies, netting her first career goal to tie the game up, with assists coming from Kate Holmes and Mia Brown. Anderson then put her second goal of the night in to collect the game-winner, as Holmes once again added on an assist.

Skylar Fontaine closed out the first period of scoring, with Megan Carter and Veronika Pettey assisting her goal. Carter has now recorded an assist in three straight games for Northeastern (9-1-0, 6-1-0 HEAW).

Holmes added a goal in the second period to push herself to a three-point performance with Brown and Paige Capistran collecting assists on the goal. Alina Mueller closed out the scoring for Northeastern in the third period. Mueller's goal came off a beautiful tic-tac-toe sequence from Katy Knoll and Anderson.

Goaltender Aerin Frankel grabbed her ninth win of the season, stopping 25 shots against the Wildcats.
