BOSTON— The No. 3 Northeastern women's hockey team will close out the decade with a 4 p.m. tilt on Monday, Dec. 30 against Vermont at Matthews Arena.
 
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. The Catamounts: During the 2018-19 season, the Huskies piled up a 5-0 record against the Catamounts, including two wins during the Hockey East tournament. Vermont most recently swept Maine in a two-game series, to snap a six-game winless streak. Alyssa Holmes ranks third in Hockey East with a .632 faceoff win percentage. Corinne McCool, Val Caldwell and Sini Karjalainen lead Vermont with 16 points each.

  2. A Major Plus: Eight Northeastern players are in the top-10 in plus-minus in the Hockey East through the first half of the season. Alina Mueller is leading the way at +21 with senior captain Paige Capistran not far behind at +20. Both of those players also rank in the top-eight nationally in plus-minus.

  3. The Month of the Howlin' Huskies: Junior goaltender Aerin Frankel and freshman forward Katy Knoll were named Hockey East Goaltender of the Month and Rookie of the Month, respectively, during. Additionally, the pair were each recognized with national honors by the Women's Hockey Commissioners Association (WHCA). Frankel posted a 6-1-0 record during November, with a .963 save percentage and .86 GAA. Knoll compiled three goals and eight assists during November, including one five-point performance (1g, 4a).
UP NEXT
The Huskies will next head to Pittsburgh for the 'Battle at the Burgh' tournament from January 4-5 at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex. Northeastern will take on Colgate on Jan. 4 before facing either No. 1 Wisconsin or Robert Morris on Jan. 5.
