BOSTON— Northeastern women's hockey head coach
Dave Flint has named the captains that will form the leadership group for the 2026-27 season.
Kristina Allard and
Rylie Jones were named captains, while
Lisa Jönsson and
Ellie Mabardy were named assistant captains.
"Our team knows who their leaders are and I'm proud to announce this group of captains for the upcoming season," remarked Flint. "I have full confidence that all four of them will set the tone and help guide us toward a special season."
The quartet played a key role in helping Northeastern return to the Frozen Four in 2025–26 and claim the Hockey East Regular Season Title. This marks the first time since the 2016-17 season Northeastern has named two captains.
This upcoming season will mark Allard's third season in the leadership group and her first season as captain. A Hockey East Second Team All-Star, Allard set a new career-high with 16 points this past year.
Jones will also don the 'C' for the Huskies, marking her first time wearing a letter at Northeastern. Jones set new career-highs with three goals, 13 assists and 16 points in 2025-26.
Jönsson will be wearing a letter for the first time in her career as a Husky. A National Goaltender of the Year Semifinalist and Hockey East Second Team All-Star, Jönsson posted a 21-7-1 record with a 1.73 GAA and .939 save percentage this past year.
Mabardy rounds out the Husky leadership group, also wearing a letter for the first time in her NU career. The rising senior scored her first career goal for Northeastern in 2025-26.
