NEWARK, Del. – Despite three players finishing with double-digit point totals, the Northeastern women's basketball team was unable to contend with Delaware in the paint during Friday's CAA game at the Bob Carpenter Center as the Huskies received the 77-63 defeat from the Blue Hens.

Shannon Todd led Northeastern (15-8, 5-7 CAA) in scoring for the third time during the Huskies' last four games, totaling 15 points – nine of which were earned via her team high, three 3-pointers. With

Stella Clark moved into the NU starting five for the first time during her sophomore season, tallying 14 points, four rebounds, two assists and a steal.

Jess Genco added 11 points, five rebounds and seven assists while
Ayanna Dublin charted nine points and eight rebounds.

Samone DeFreese broke through for 31 points to lead Delaware (11-12, 6-5 CAA), which shot 41 percent from the field and sported the +16 advantage on the glass. The Blue Hens outscored the Huskies, 40-26, in the paint, registering 15 second chance points off 21 offensive boards.

Northeastern commanded a brief first quarter lead before Delaware took control at 12-11 with 2:10 to play in the period. Despite playing from behind, the Huskies remained down by only single digits through the remainder of the first half, later shaving a 44-34, third quarter deficit down to one possession with 8:42 remaining in regulation (48-45).
