Tyson Walker scored a career-high 32 points and
Jordan Roland finished with 17 to lead Northeastern (9-6, 3-0 CAA) to a 77-68 win over Elon (4-11, 0-2 CAA) on Thursday night inside Matthews Arena. The Huskies are riding an eight-game home court winning streak in league play, and are 12-1 over their last 13 home league games.
Bolden Brace added 10 points to round out double-figure scorers for the Huskies. Northeastern shot 45 percent (9-for-20) from behind the arc, and went 12-for-15 from the free-throw line.
The Huskies led by as many as 14 points early in the second half, but the 3-point shooting from Elon brought the Phoenix within two, 68-66, with 2:26 remaining in the game. Walker had the answer all night long for Northeastern, making a pair of jumpers to lead an 8-0 run as the Huskies went back up by double digits, 76-66, with just 24 seconds left to hold off Elon's comeback try.
Marcus Sheffield II led a trio of Elon players in double figures with 19. Hunter McIntosh finished with 17 and Hunter Woods added 12.
The Huskies will host William & Mary on Saturday afternoon inside Matthews Arena. Game time is set for 4 p.m. and the game will be televised on NESN +.
