BOSTON— Behind junior blueliner
Skylar Fontaine's three-point performance, the No. 4 Northeastern women's hockey team advanced to the Hockey East semifinals for the 10th-straight season with a 3-1 victory over the University of Vermont. The win was the Huskies 30th of the season, marking the first time in program history Northeastern has reached 30 wins.

Junior goaltender
Aerin Frankel posted 25 saves and recorded her second career point after assisting Fontaine's goal that tied the game at 1-1. Fontaine's tally evened the score after Vermont (10-18-8) claimed the first goal of the evening on the power play.

Freshman forward
Peyton Anderson potted the game-winner for Northeastern (30-4-2) at the 9:55 mark of the second period. Sophomore forward
Alina Mueller tacked on the insurance goal on the power play for her 25th of the season to push the final score to 3-1.

Vermont's goaltender Blanka Skodova finished with 41 saves in the loss. The Huskies outshot the Catamounts, 44-26.

Northeastern advances to the Hockey East semifinals, which will be held at Merrimack's Lawler Rink on Saturday, March 7. Â After the quarterfinal round finishes, the teams will be re-seeded before facing off in the semifinals, with the matchups being #1 vs. #4 and #2 vs. #3.
