WASHINGTON, D.C. -
Jordan Roland scored 21 points and Bolden Brace finished with 16 points and seven rebounds to lead No. 6 seed Northeastern (17-15) past No. 7 seed Elon (13-21), 68-60, in the semifinals of the Hercules Tires CAA Men's Basketball Championship on Monday night inside the Entertainment and Sports Arena. The Huskies led for the entire game and became just the fifth school in CAA history to make three consecutive title game appearances.

Tyson Walker was the final NU player to reach double figures, tallying 10 points and two assists. Maxime Boursiquot grabbed a team-best seven rebounds, adding eight points, while Shaquille Walters dished out a team-best five assists to go with his eight points.

The Huskies are the third No. 6 seed in CAA tournament history to make the championship game, joining James Madison (1997) and George Mason (2007). This will be Northeastern's fifth championship game since 2013, splitting the first four with titles in 2015 and '19.

Northeastern held the Phoenix scoreless for nearly the first six minutes of the game and built a 20-point lead with just over four minutes remaining in the first half. NU would continue to lead by double digits for most of the game as Elon would only get as close as seven points on two occasions, but Roland responded with consecutive 3-pointers to push the lead back to 13.

Elon was led by Marcus Sheffield II and Hunter McIntosh, each with 20 points. Tonight was the first-ever meeting between the two programs in the CAA tournament and the Huskies have now won seven of the last eight meetings in the series.

Northeastern will take on No. 1 seed Hofstra (25-8) in a rematch of last year's championship game on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The game will be nationally-televised on CBS Sports Network and will air on Westwood One Sports Radio.
