BROOKLINE, Mass.- Sophomore midfielder Rose Kaefer scored her first goal of the season in the 35^th minute to lead Northeastern women's soccer (5-6-1, 2-2-0 CAA) to a 1-0 win over JMU (4-7-1, 1-2-0 CAA) on Sunday at Parsons Field.

• Northeastern had an early opportunity in the 17^th minute on a corner kick, but a shot by junior defender Jane Kaull was saved by the JMU goalkeeper.
• Kaefer scored for the Huskies in the 35th minute, off a free kick from sophomore defender Faith Rosenblatt. The goal is her first of the season.
• The Huskies were close to making it 2-0 late in the first, after sophomore midfielder Eleanor Fisher took a shot that went towards the top of the net that the JMU goalkeeper made a key save on. 
• JMU had an opportunity in the 65^th minute when a shot was taken with a wide-open net, but the Huskies made a stellar team save.
• James Madison had multiple chances in the second half, but were not able to score.
• Junior goalkeeper Angeline Friel made eight saves, picking up her third win of the season.
• The Dukes led in shots, 14-7 and corners 7-4.
• With the win, Northeastern has won two straight against CAA opponents.

The Huskies will hit the road for a matchup with Hofstra on Thursday, October 14. Kickoff from Hofstra Soccer Stadium is set for 7 pm, and can be watched on FloFC.
