BOX SCORE (PDF)
BROOKLINE, Mass. — Graduate student defender
Mikenna McManus scored a first-half goal but that's all Northeastern women's soccer (6-7-1, 3-3-0 CAA) could muster as they fell 2-1 in overtime to Elon (7-5-1, 2-2-1 CAA) at Parsons Field on Sunday afternoon.
- McManus took a corner kick from graduate student Kayla McCauley and sent a rocket from outside the box over the Elon keeper, hitting the crossbar to score her fourth goal of the season in the 44th minute.
- Her four goals lead the Huskies and are tied for eighth in the CAA. McCauley earned her third assist of the year, tying her for first on the team.
- McManus, sophomore Jane Kaull and graduate student Julianne Ross each played 93 minutes, holding down the back line.
- The Huskies had more shots on target than Elon by a margin of 5-3 and also led in corner kicks, 6-2.
- Five players registered a shot on target each for the Huskies.
After this quick stop at home, the Huskies are headed back on the road again as they travel to South Carolina next week for a match with Charleston on Sunday, October 24 at 12 p.m. on
