Halle McCabe scored an equalizer and junior midfielder
Alexis Legowski put in the game-winning goal in the second half to lift Northeastern women's soccer (7-7-1, 4-3-0 CAA) to victory over Charleston (2-11-3, 1-5-1 CAA) on Saturday afternoon at Ralph Lundy Field.
- McCabe's (3) goal came in the 38th minute as she slotted home a rebound opportunity from freshman forward Megan Putvinski's (1) shot and freshman defender Katherine Marchesseault's (1) cross.
- This was McCabe's first match back from injury. She scored in her first game action since September 19 against Brown.
- In the 63rd minute, graduate student Mikenna McManus slid the ball across the box to find a waiting Legowski, who tucked her shot into the bottom corner and gave the Huskies the lead.
- Junior goalkeeper Angeline Friel stopped three shots on the afternoon in a complete game.
- The Huskies and Cougars were level with 10 shots apiece, but the Huskies put more attempts on target by a margin of 5-4.
- With the win, Northeastern moves into sole possession of third place in the CAA with just two conference games remaining.
