Alexis Legowski scored a first-half goal and junior goalkeeper
Angeline Friel made seven saves but Northeastern women's soccer (7-8-1, 4-4-0 CAA) couldn't find the winning spark in overtime as they fell 2-1 in double overtime to Drexel (6-7-3, 2-4-2 CAA) at Parsons Field on Thursday evening.
- Legowski's third goal of the season was a header that nestled in the corner of the net. It came in from a cross by Mikenna McManus (3), who now is tied for second in assists on the Huskies.
- Legowski also played all 109 minutes and tying graduate student back Mikenna McManus for the highest shots on target total with two apiece.
- Friel's seven saves tie her third-highest total on the season, when she shut out Hofstra in a 1-0 win (10/14).
- The Huskies outshot Drexel 17-15 but had fewer shots on target and fewer corner kicks.
After falling in the home finale, the Huskies will hit the road for their final regular season matchup at William & Mary on Sunday, October 31 at 12 p.m. on
FloFC. With a win, the Huskies will clinch a spot in the CAA Championship in Elon, N.C.
