Erica Staunton tallied 16 kills on .424 hitting, and junior middle blocker
Nailah Jenkins notched 10 kills on .421 hitting, to lead the Huskies volleyball team (11-9, 7-3 CAA) to a straight set victory over first place Elon (13-9, 8-4 CAA) on Sunday at the Cabot Center, completing the weekend sweep.
The resilient Huskies battled back after Elon took the lead on multiple occasions to start each set, and ultimately held on for the victory.
- Staunton also recorded four digs and three blocks.
- Junior libero Kayla Martin had two assists and a team-high 21 digs.
- Jenkins also chipped in with two service aces and three blocks.
- Sophomore outside hitter Defne Arliel tallied nine kills on .438 hitting.
- Junior outside hitter Evelyn Gonzalez notched six kills, three assists, and nine digs.
- Sophomore middle blocker Marika Virthe had a team-high four blocks.
- Freshman setter Jessica Frannea dished out 39 assists with seven digs and two blocks.
- The match had 14 tie scores, and seven lead changes.
The Huskies will head to James Madison on Saturday, October 30 and Sunday October 31. First serve is set for 11 am on Saturday, and 1 pm on Sunday. The matches can also be watched on
