BROOKLINE, Mass. — Senior forward
Dan Munch scored a first-half hat trick and four different Huskies scored a goal each to lead Northeastern men's soccer (10-5-2, 4-2-1 CAA) to victory over the College of Charleston (4-7-3, 1-6-1 CAA) on Senior Day at Parsons Field on Saturday afternoon.
The Huskies' seven goals is the most they've scored in a game since September 8, 1999, when Northeastern beat Sacred Heart 9-0.
- Munch scored his first career hat trick by scoring three goals in the first half (10', 28', 42') to raise his goal total to four on the season. The last Northeastern player to score a hat trick was Don Anding on September 25, 2012.
- Sophomore midfielder Federico Tellez had four assists, tying the all-time Northeastern single game record for assists. He now has 13 assists this season, tying the Northeastern single-season record for assists and putting him in second in Division I for total assists.
- Tellez also scored a rocket of a goal in the sixth minute from senior midfielder Jacob Marin-Thomson (8), raising his season total to six on the year.
- Senior forward Ryan Massoud started the scoring, getting his sixth of the season in the third minute from senior forward Benjamin Klingen (7) — who had three assists on the day — and Tellez.
- Freshman forward Sebastian Restrepo scored his third goal of the season in the 44th minute, just two minutes after Munch completed his hat trick. He was assisted by senior midfielder Stach Jaran (2).
- Redshirt senior Timothy Ennin scored a goal in the 45th minute and assisted on Munch's third strike. The goal was Ennin's sixth on the season and first since the match against Hofstra (9/11) and the assist was his fourth of the year.
- Goalkeepers Colby Hegarty, Adam Gostomelsky and Chandler Cree combined for the shutout.
- Northeastern outshot Charleston 23-8 and had 13 shots on target compared to the Cougars' three.
- The Huskies now have 10 wins for the first time since 2012 and the first time in head coach Chris Gbandi's coaching career.
With the final home game of the Huskies' regular season, they will travel to James Madison for their regular-season finale on Saturday, November 6 at 7 p.m. on
