No. 3 Northeastern Pushes Unbeaten Streak to 15 with 4-1 Win over UNH on Senior Day

BOX SCORE (PDF) | POSTGAME PRESS CONFERENCE

BOSTON - Skylar Fontaine scored her NCAA-best fifth power-play goal, Alina Mueller added two assists to increase her NCAA-leading point total to 30, and Aerin Frankel (13-1-1) made 20 saves to lead No. 3 Northeastern (15-1-1 Hockey East) to a 4-1 win over New Hampshire (6-13-1 Hockey East) on Sunday inside Matthews Arena. The Huskies are leading the country with a 15-game unbeaten streak and have not given up more than one goal in nine consecutive contests.

Tessa Ward, Chloé Aurard and Miceala Sindoris each recorded goals for the Huskies. Maureen Murphy added an assist as she and Fontaine have registered a point in six straight games, while Brooke Hobson tallied an assist to push her point streak to five straight along with Mueller. It is the ninth time this season that Mueller has recorded two or more points in a game.

After a scoreless first period, the Huskies' Fontaine found the back of the net after a nifty pass from Mueller on the power play to give Northeastern a 1-0 lead after 40 minutes of play. The Red and Black broke through with three goals in under three minutes midway through the third period, including a strong takeaway from Ward that was capped off with a nice breakaway goal to make the score 2-0. Aurard scored just 1:05 later and Sindoris lit the lamp for the final goal for the Huskies with just under eight minutes remaining in the game.

V Pettey Senior Day

The third-ranked Huskies honored senior Veronika Pettey before the game in her final regular-season game inside Matthews Arena. Pettey tallied four shots in the game, and has two goals and four assists on the season.
