LOWELL, Mass.--
Angeline Friel earned her first career shutout with four saves after 110 minutes of play, to lead Northeastern (0-1-1) in a 0-0 draw against UMass Lowell (0-0-1) on Sunday at Cushing Field. The Huskies tallied 10 shots with four shots on goal.
Chelsea Domond had a potential game-winning goal in the final minutes of the first overtime, but it was quickly called back due to an unseen hole in the side netting of Lowell's net. The River Hawks also had a goal overturned in the second half due a late offsides call.
Mikenna McManus and Domond led the Huskies in shots with four and two, respectively.
Friel's four saves included both a diving 1v1 save and a free kick save early in the first half.
The Huskies will take on the River Hawks again this Thursday at 6 p.m. for their first home match of the season.
