BOSTON - Zach Solow scored his team-best seventh goal of the season to lead No. 14 Northeastern (6-5-2 Hockey East) in a 4-1 loss to UConn (8-6-2 Hockey East) on Friday inside Matthews Arena. Solow has three goals over his last three games for the Huskies.
Connor Murphy made a career-high 38 saves in the game, while
Sam Colangelo and
Jordan Harris added assists for Northeastern.
Harris made a nifty pass on the power play to Solow off to the side of the net from the blueline to give Northeastern a 1-0 lead 10 minutes into the opening period. UConn countered with four unanswered goals, including an empty net goal in the final two minutes and Nashville Predators' draft pick Tomas Vomacka made the score stand up with 24 saves.
NU will host No. 9 UMass (10-5-3 Hockey East) on Tuesday at 6 p.m. inside Matthews Arena. The game will be televised on NESN +.
