WAKEFIELD, Mass.— No. 20 Northeastern's Gunnarwolfe Fontaine has been named to the Pro Ambitions All-Rookie Team, announced by the league office on Thursday. This is Fontaine's second Hockey East award after earning Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week (story) in December.

Fontaine ranks third in Hockey East in freshman scoring (6-9-15) and is tied for fourth on the team in points. The East Greenwich, R.I. native has notched at least one point in 11 out of his 20 games played, three of which are multi-point nights and averaging .75 points per game. Three of Fontaine's goals are on the power play which is good for third most on the team.

Fontaine is the first Husky to be named to the Pro Ambitions All-Rookie team since Tyler Madden in 2019.

Northeastern takes on UMass in the quarterfinals of the Hockey East Tournament on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. inside Mullins Center. The game will be televised on NESN+ and heard on 98.5 The Sports Hub (HD2).
