TOWSON, Md. – Kayla McCauley scored the game-winning goal to lead Northeastern (4-3-1, 2-1-0 CAA) in a 1-0 win over Towson (1-3-2, 0-2 CAA) on Saturday night at Tiger Field.
McCauley scored her fourth career goal in the final minute of the first overtime period with help from
Chelsea Domond, as she earned her second assist of the season. The Huskies outshot the Tiger's 7-4 in the first half,
Alexis Legowski posted three shots on goal with Domond notching two.
Northeastern's team effort was led by
Jane Kaull,
Porter Dooley,
Eleanor Fisher,
Tatiana Ortega, and
Katarina Nilsson as they each earned a shot for the Huskies offensive line.
Megan Adams,
Mikenna McManus, and
Angeline Friel held it down on the Huskies defensive end, each with 90+ minutes of play.
Friel picked up three saves on the night, all made in the second half.
Northeastern will face the Eagles of Boston College on Thursday, April 1, kick off is at 6 p.m.
